Monroeville recently had the opportunity to be a part of the Bluegrass In The Schools program organized by the International Bluegrass Music Museum in Owensboro, KY. The program consisted of a 10 day 25 school tour reaching almost 10,000 elementary students. The band was honored to be considered and could not wait to entertain the children while teaching them about Monroeville’s musical heritage in Bluegrass.

Special thanks to the International Bluegrass Museum for asking Monroeville to be a part of such a special endeavor. Schools have always been close to our heart, and this is one of the most organized bluegrass efforts we have ever seen. The museum has established a regular learning program for these kids to continue their interest in playing music. Throughout the concerts we would promote the next classes and the museum would leave flyers and information for the kids to take home to their parents. Not only do those who sign up for music lessons learn from great players, they are even provided an instrument and are allowed to perform at the museum’s festival, ROPM.
