New Project for 2016-2017
Monroeville's newest project, WORLDS APART, is a Rock Alternative Acoustic recording that features Monroeville's signature original progressive Bluegrass sound with new material that spans from an orchestrated Acoustic Rock song to Electronic mixed with Acoustic, Pop, Rock Orchestra and back - all with acoustic instruments at the core.
WORLDS APART is intertwined with musical interludes that allow each song to masterfully flow seamlessly from style to style.
Penned, produced, mixed and mastered by lead Matt Munsey, WORLDS APART features a studio recording of the band playing live in one room with a Juilliard string section for "Push On", a Rock Acoustic Orchestra Instrumental "Gallarojo", and a Bluegrass "murder ballad" set to a Pop feel in "Last Regret". There is also an exclusive live re-recording of "Devil's Rope" from their first release in 2011 that can only found on the physical project.
Headed by GRAMMY® nominated producer and engineer, Matt Munsey, Monroeville is a Rock Alternative group of multi-instrumentalists and vocalists from diverse musical backgrounds, with Bluegrass as a common thread. From their inception, Monroeville made a conscious effort to create a new, original sound based around traditional Bluegrass instruments, incorporating the stylings of Rock, Alternative, Pop, Blues, Jazz, Electronic, and Classical music with their Bluegrass abilities to create a sound all their own. Monroeville named themselves after a man whom they all admired, the "Father of Bluegrass", Bill Monroe. Mr. Monroe was inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997 and was recognized as an innovator and Early Influence inspiring many rock artists. Monroeville is inspired to do the same.
"I was determined to carve out a music of my own, I didn't want to copy anybody." - Bill Monroe
